With a little imagination you can see the bobcat in this photo - rear view. The difficulty of handling a 3.5 lb telephoto lens at dusk while trying to catch up without spooking him was perhaps compounded by the recently consumed martini and Oliver's enthusiasm (which definitely DID spook him).
You'll have to take my word for it that he was absolutely gorgeous, with orange markings more like that of a leopard than the other greyish one I had seen here before.
