After over a dozen years of care, an old friend gave me a very smelly surprise.
I had no idea that a corn plant would actually flower, let alone with such incredible intensity. This thing is vicious! I think it uses its smell - sweet and slightly sickly - to induce eye watering and respiratory distress in predators while attracting pollinators. Well maybe that's just my paranoia, but I'm sorry, it's off to the shed with you for the next week while you get over this condition.
